Model Overview
The BMW 4-Series is available in two different body styles: coupe and convertible. There are two engines available in the 4-Series: 430i models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that makes 255 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission, while a 6-speed manual is available.
The performance-oriented M4 gets a 3.0L twin-turbocharged six-cylinder. It produces an impressive 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The M4 Competition uses the same engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that's tuned to produce 503 horsepower. M4 models are rear-wheel-drive only.
The M440 is available in RWD and AWD and it's powered by a 3L turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 382 horsepower.
Trim levels are all similarly equipped across the range, notable features on the 4-Series include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated side mirrors with a power folding function, 12-way power adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, a automatic climate control with separate rear controls, BMW's iDrive system with an 8.8-inch display screen, cruise control and rain-sensing wipers.

For 2021 the BMW 4-series and M4 are both completely redesigned. The 430 Gran Coupe, 440i, and 440 Gran Coupe models are no longer available while an M440 has been added to the lineup.
